Florida State Representative Moves for Harsher Penalties on Texting and Driving

Florida State Representative Emily Slosberg is working to build support for a new proposed law that would make texting while driving in Florida a primary offense. Florida is one of only four states where texting and driving isn’t a primary offense. According to current law, it is a secondary offense, meaning that law enforcement cannot pull a motorists over if seen texting and driving. A citation can only be issued if the reason for the pull over is another offense, such as speeding or failure to stop.

Cars and a Home Damaged in Orlando Road Rage Incident

A bizarre incident of road rage seems to have taken place in Orlando on Saturday morning. Although the Florida Highway Patrol have yet to issue a full report of the incident, numerous witnesses at the scene have described the circumstances that led to the crash which involved several cars, a house, and a harmless tree. According to the witnesses, the accident happened close to where North lane intersects Innesbrook Court. Loud sounds of two people arguing first alerted the neighbors to the possibility of something unexpected occurring. One of the witnesses stated that the argument was between a woman and her boyfriend, although none of the witnesses could confirm what exactly the couple’s argument was about.

Failure to Yield Leads to Accident, Injuries in Indian Rivers Country

A man was seriously injured in a two car crash happening Friday near the county fairgrounds in Indian Rivers Country, Florida. The crash involved a white SUV and a blue pickup truck. The pickup truck was traveling east on 77th Street and failed to yield at a blinking red light. As the truck travelled through the intersection it crashed into an SUV driven by a female. The SUV had three children inside.
