Another Exploding Kia Results in Questions in Kissimmee

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on June 9, 2019

Yet another KIA is at the center of a vehicle fire that occurred suddenly when the car was not even on, and that nearly resulted in the destruction of a home. According to reports from the Kissimmee Fire Department, the incident in question happened sometime on Thursday, June 6th, while the 2017 KIA Sportage was parked in the driveway of a private residence. The couple that owned the car was inside the home at the time, but they were not the first to become aware of the fire.

Instead, it was neighbors, who were immediately alarmed when they looked out their windows facing the 1300 block of Meadowbrook, finding themselves confronted with the sight of the KIA in question completely engulfed in flames. While 9-1-1 was called, one of the neighbors rushed to the homeowner’s door to tell them that their car was on fire.

Fortunately, the Kissimmee Fire Department was able to reach the area and put out the blaze before the fire spread to the home itself. At the time of this writing it is believed that the majority of the damage done was to the car as well as to several trash bins that were standing close to the vehicle.

Now, the main issue is to uncover just what happened. As readers of this blog will no doubt be aware, KIA and Hyundai vehicles are currently prone to bursting into flames for mysterious reasons. Unfortunately, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has done little to nothing when it comes to holding the major corporations behind these two vehicle brands responsible. Instead, it seems that the administration’s plan is to just wait long enough for the consumers of these vehicles to become tired of waiting for a response. This, of course, puts thousands and thousands of motorists at risk, as well as makes it so those already adversely affected by the exploding cars are receiving little or no financial assistance to make up for the massive losses sustained by the sudden and inexplicable destruction of their cars.

At the time of this writing, no further information on this particular incident is available, although it does remain under investigation.
