Orange County House Fire Injures One

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on May 24, 2018

Orange County Fire Rescue personnel are currently investigating a house fire that is believed to be responsible for the hospitalization of at least one person inside of Orange County. Statements from this official organization indicate that they first received reports of the fire on Saturday, although it is not clear at what time the first calls to the OCFR reached the emergency response teams.

When the first responders and the fire crews reached the location of the fire along the 3600 block of Westwood Road, they found a home in the process of being consumed by smoke and flames. It seems that the Orange County Fire Rescue was able to reach the specified area before the fire spread too far, and the report indicated that the fire was either exclusively relegated to the home’s laundry room or else was able to be fully extinguished once it reached the laundry room.

Several hours after the bulk of the fire was extinguished, fire crews were still surveying the area in order to ensure that there were no more flames hiding in corners, closets, or cupboards. It is believed that the fire was successfully doused before the building was totally consumed, but we do not know the full extent of the damage.

Although it is not clear just how many people were in the home at the time of the fire, we do know that at least one of them was taken from the scene of the incident to Orlando Regional Medical Center. There, they began receiving treatment for smoke inhalation. The report did not indicate if this person also suffered from any burns as a result of the incident, leading one to assume that the vast majority of damage done to the individual concerned the thick toxic smoke that occurs in house fires.

The incident is still under investigation from the Orange County Fire Department. Initial reports did not discuss whether or not the investigating officials currently believe to know the reason behind the fire or if this is still the primary focus of their investigation. Interesting or surprising developments will be released to the public as they become known.
