28-Year-Old Biker from Kissimmee Killed During Multi-Vehicle Collision
According to a preliminary investigation by detectives with the Florida Highway Patrol operating in Osceola County, a 28-year-old motorcyclist from Kissimmee sustained fatal injuries Saturday evening after he was involved in an accident with a pickup truck along Poinciana Boulevard.
Early reports from the Florida Highway Patrol indicate that it was shortly before midnight on November 13, 2021, when the 28-year-old male victim who lived in Kissimmee was driving his motorcycle in the northbound direction of Poinciana Boulevard. As the biker approached the street’s intersection with Isles of Bellalago Drive, an unidentified driver of a pickup attempted to make a left-hand turn onto southbound Poinciana and in doing so, they pulled the truck out into the path of the oncoming motorcyclist. Neither motorist was unable to avoid the collision and they crashed into each other head-on. The impact from the accident was so forceful that it ejected the 28-year-old man from his motorcycle onto the roadway where he was then run over by another driver in a white passenger vehicle which did not stop after striking the biker.
Osceola County emergency response teams and Florida Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched by 9-1-1 operators to the scene of the deadly motorcycle accident as soon as they received notification of the collision. After arriving at the scene and assessing the situation, rescuers quickly discovered that the motorcyclist had already passed away from the injuries he suffered during the crash.
It is unknown at this time whether or not the driver of the pickup truck was injured or if they were under the influence of alcohol or drugs when the incident occurred. The name of the accident victim is being withheld until the next of kin has been notified of his death. Further information regarding these details are expected to be released as they become available.
Authorities with the Florida Highway Patrol are currently searching for the hit-and-run driver of the white passenger vehicle that struck the motorcyclist while he was laying in the road.
