Two Adults, One Child Dies When Plane Crashes into SUV in Pembroke Pines

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on March 23, 2021

A bizarre and terrible aviation accident took place within the normally quiet town of Pembroke Pines towards the middle of March that involved an SUV, an airplane, and several individuals within both the car and the aircraft. What we know so far comes from officials working within Pembroke Pines, including the fire chief. Their reports indicated that it was on Monday, March 15th, that two individuals climbed into a Beechcraft plane and took off from the North Perry Airport, located within Pembroke Pines.

It is not known how long the plane sailed through the skies, but the reports indicated that it was sometime before 3:00 in the afternoon that the aircraft was returning back to the airport. Details at this point remain under investigation, but the preliminary reports suggest that the aircraft suffered something such as engine failure.

As a result, the plane dropped suddenly and silently out of the sky. At this time, the plane was traveling over a residential area, and people were out in their cars and yards enjoying the weather and traveling throughout the town. One of these vehicles, a blue SUV, was making its way down the road at exactly the spot where the plane nosedived.

A video of the incident was captured by a doorbell camera attached to a neighbor’s home. In it, we can see the SUV driving along and then the plane comes out of the sky and collides with the vehicle before sliding out of frame along the pavement. Immediately after, a wall of fire erupts along the entire stretch of road where the plane crashed.

The reports from the Pembroke Pines fire chief stated that one of the people within the SUV was able to escape, but that their child was trapped within the vehicle as it began to be consumed by fire. Firefighters reached the area shortly after and managed to free the child, but the injuries that this person sustained in the incident were severe and they passed away sometime after arriving at the hospital.

The Federal Aviation Administration as well as the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident.
