Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident Near Apopka
Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a recent fatal motorcycle accident near Apopka that killed a 52-year-old man. Troopers say that the man was riding a Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Orange Blossom Trail near Overland Road when a car turned left in front of him and cut him off. They say that the accident occurred around 11 p.m. at the intersection of S. Orange Blossom Trail and Overland Road when a northbound Nissan Sentra attempted to make a left turn onto Overland Road from S. Orange Blossom Trail.
Troopers say that the rider had no time to take evasive action and struck the side of the car, causing him to be ejected from his bike. Troopers say that the impact threw the victim an undisclosed distance from the point of impact, and he was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries. The occupants of the Nissan at the time of the accident, a 51-year-old woman and a 24-year-old woman, gave troopers conflicting reports on who was driving the car at the time of the accident.
When troopers determine who was behind the wheel at the time of the accident and finish their investigation, the driver could be liable for wrongful death charges in addition to any criminal charges in connection with the accident. In many cases, the survivors of accident victims seek the counsel of an experienced Orlando wrongful death attorney, such as James O.
