Florida Plane Crash Kills Student Pilot and Flight Instructor
The number of private pilots in the United States is steadily decreasing. In 2000, there were over 250,000 licensed private pilots in the country. By 2007, that number had slipped to around 210,000. It increased slightly in 2009, but stands at around 210,000. While the numbers have declined, people are still interested in getting a pilot’s license. It takes hours of flight time to become a licensed pilot.
