Lake Wales Resident Charged with DUI After Crashing into Barbed Wire Fence

An employee with the Polk County Public Schools is currently facing charges after they were involved in an auto accident while driving a pickup truck on Sunday, January 31^st. Current reports on the incident suggest that it took place close to 4:00 in the afternoon on the day in question. At this time, a 45-year-old Lake Wales resident was behind the wheel of a black Chevy Silverado truck and traveling down Lake Mabel Loop Road. The reports did not incite where this person was coming from, but based on the following events it is believed that they had consumed a fair amount of alcohol while at this location.
