GM Forced to Recall 7 Million Vehicles for Defective Takata Airbags
On November 23rd, 2020, in a ground-breaking decision by the United States Government, automotive industry giant General Motors (GM) was ordered by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to recall nearly 7 million pickup trucks and SUVs due to their ongoing issues with defective and deadly airbag inflators produced by Takata, a now-defunct Japanese car parts manufacturer.
Defective Air Bag Lawsuit Filed Against Honda
A Florida resident recently filed a lawsuit against Honda and Takata after her air bag exploded and caused injuries that paralyzed her for life. She was driving her Honda Civic when she hit an SUV and her Takata air bag deployed. Air bags are supposed to protect us, but this one deployed with such force that it caused irreparable injuries. The lawsuit claims that Honda and Takata failed to warn the public about design defects that could cause injury or death.
