Reports are still emerging around a massive house fire that occurred within the City of Cocoa on Thursday, July 9th. According to what we know so far, the incident was first reported early in the morning. Sometime before 2:00 a.m., calls began to reach emergency dispatchers throughout Brevard County. These calls indicated that a large house fire was raging at a private residence located along the 3600 block of Brophy Boulevard. We do not know for certain who called the authorities to alert them to the house fire, but in cases such as this the calls most often come from one of three places: a passerby, a neighbor, or someone within the home who wakes up due to a smoke alarm or some other alerting factor.
