Avalon Park Boulevard Accident
Avalon Park, a small, unincorporated town close to Orlando, has its residents up in arms after the most recent accident along Avalon Park Boulevard left a 15-year-old high school student dead and police searching for the driver of the motorcycle that killed him. This accident, which we wrote about in an earlier blog post, has been jarring for the residents of this close-knit town. As a result, Avalon Park residents are now being even more vigilant in their demand for proper lighting along their streets.
Alec Gomez, a 15-year-old student at Timber Creek High School in Orange County, was hanging out with friends, skateboarding and yo-yoing this weekend, when he was struck by a motorcyclist close to where Avalon Park Boulevard and Pellicer Drive intersect. According to eyewitness reports from some of the other young people gathered at the location, Gomez was mindfully playing with his friends, carefully avoiding traffic, and being his normal, funny, and conscientious self when the incident occurred around midnight on Friday.
