RSSSquare Grove Sit-Stand Desk Converters Recalled

The converters were sold between January 2016 and March 2016 online at upliftdesk.com and thehumansolution.com. The unit retailed at around 220 dollars, which is a fairly standard price for such a device. According to the recall information, the converters were labeled as Square Grove’s Stand-Sit Converters and were all manufactured in Taiwan.
The recall details how the pneumatic lifting mechanism that is the primary function of the machine has a tendency to malfunction during either the assembly of the Stand-Sit converter or during its use. As of right now, there have been two reported incidents where such a malfunction occurred. In one, the result was a bruised finger, and in the other, a finger was broken.
This is clearly a safety hazard for both the individuals who purchased the converter and anyone who might happen to use the converter. Customers who alert Square Grove will be provided with a repair kit, at no cost to the consumer.

The model affected by the recall is the UPL147, and it includes both the “freestand” and the “clamp” versions of this product. If confusion still exists as to whether or not your unit is affected by the recall, simply look for the words “Uplift Desk” that are printed boldly on the device.
