West Melbourne Trailer Fire

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on June 3, 2016

Early on Wednesday morning in West Melbourne, the Brevard County Fire Rescue were called out to battle a sudden and surprising fire that began in a mobile home parked in the driveway of a private home located on Ohio Street. According to the statement issued by the Brevard County authorities, the fire came out of almost nowhere and was battled by crews from both the Brevard County Fire Rescue and the Palm Bay Fire Rescue. Initially, there were fears on the part of both the emergency response crews, the family, and the neighboring residents that the fire would quickly and violently spread to other homes. However, the only apparent damage caused by the fire other than the destruction of the RV was some inconsequential damage to the home before which the RV was parked.

At the moment, the exact cause of the fire is unknown. It has not been released whether or not there was anyone inside at the time of the fire, but there have been no reported injuries as a result of the incident. The fire was rapidly brought under control, testifying to the diligence and capability of the two crews working together to contain the potentially disastrous flames.

It is not known right now whether or not an investigation into the incident will be launched. Because the only damage happened to the mobile home and the one house, it may be up to the owners of the RV/house to pursue the matter further or not. In such instances as this, the causes of premises liability accidents can often be incredibly mysterious to those of us looking in. It is possible that there are individuals who know what happened and why, but because of the lack of external engagement they are keeping quiet and planning on dealing with the repercussions on their own time and with their own money.

Not all circumstances are like this. In some cases, a fire such as this might be started by faulty wiring in a vehicle. In others, when more than one home is affected, it is clear that the gross negligence of another person has caused extensive damage to buildings and homes far beyond the scope of one location.
