One Injured After Fire or Roof Collapse in Orange County

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on May 29, 2018

Staff at the Orlando Regional Medical Center were heavily involved in an incident that took place on Sunday, May 20th, that resulted in an individual arriving at the medical facility in critical condition. While many of the details around the scenario are unknown and currently under investigation, it does seem clear that one person was badly injured in Orange County after a confusing event.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating the scenario, and, although they have not provided the public with much information regarding the event, it does seem clear that the incident took place at 1166 38th St.

Reports from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office state that the injuries sustained by the hospitalized individual were due to either a fire or the collapse of a roof, and while it might seem as though these two incidents would result in vastly different types of injuries, it is the case that the authorities were unable to confirm which of the events had occurred.

We do know that when the police went to investigate the area they found a hole across the ceiling of the building, but early reports were unable to ascertain whether or not this was the hole through which the critically injured individual fell. It is believed to be confirmed that this was the location where the individual was injured, but the investigation is ongoing to determine how the injury occurred, where in the building it occurred, and who, if anyone, is responsible for its occurrence.

While it is not clear who began the investigation, we know now that the entirety of the operation has been relinquished to the hands of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. It is believed that they will produce updates to the story as they become available.

Until that time, we will remain in the dark as to the events leading up to the injury of the individual who was not named in any of the reports. It is also not clear who placed the initial emergency call, if there were perhaps others inside of the apartment, or if someone close by witnessed the event that can help shed some light on just what transpired.
