Seven Rescued from House Fire in Pine Hills

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on June 5, 2017

Sunday afternoon in Pine Hills saw an unusual flurry of activity for Orange County Fire Rescue teams. According to official statements from Orange County Fire Rescue, various crews in the area responded to a call at around 3:15 in the afternoon to respond to a fire at a home along Continental Boulevard. When the teams arrived, they found the home was already twenty-five percent consumed by fire. The teams began to battle the flames, however the damage at that point was irreversible.

The report goes on to state that five adults and two children were rescued from the home. It is not known whether or not any of the people rescued from the building suffered any injuries due to burns or smoke inhalation. At the time of this writing, all seven individuals are in the care of the Red Cross. No other people were in the home at the time of the fire, and it does not seem as though any of those who were inside sustained life threatening injuries.

The state fire marshal has been notified of the incident and will likely begin an investigation into the fire’s cause. The information supplied by the Orange County Fire Rescue team does not indicate whether or not arson is suspected in this case, and in fact there is no part of the statement that says anything about possible reasons for the fire. The only facts that are known for sure are that the home was badly damaged, seven people were rescued, and these people are being looked after by the Red Cross.

This year has seen a high number of intentionally started fires in homes throughout Orange County and Florida. Although there is as of yet no reason to believe that this particular fire falls within that category, it is still unsettling to know that there people who want to cause others harm by burning down their homes. Other fires in the state over the past few months have been started by people burning books during dangerous times. Fires that are the result of a human error are particularly frustrating as they are so clearly preventable if only those responsible had taken proper precautions.
