Orlando Couple’s Argument Ends when Husband Drives over Wife
An argument between a couple in Orlando changed from a normal marital dispute into something far more serious when a woman’s husband ran her over with his car, resulting in her being admitted in a serious condition to Florida Hospital East. The Florida Highway Patrol issued a statement regarding the incident that provides us with all the currently known information. It seems that during the argument, the victim’s husband decided to climb into his Nissan Versa and leave the premises. The woman, in an attempt to prevent him from departing, used her body as a deterrent. The tactic, while seemingly foolproof, did not work, and the husband simply drove over her.
While it is not known who ultimately contacted the police, they arrived at the 7600 block of Boreas Drive to find the badly injured woman still underneath the car. The man in the car, a 53-year-old Orlando resident, was still at the premises, although it is known clear if it was he who called the police or if the Orlando Sheriff’s Department were summoned by a nearby witness.
At the time of this writing, it is also not known whether or not the victim’s husband is facing any charges or even if he was arrested. The Sheriff’s Office classified the entire case as one of aggravated battery/domestic violence, but that doesn’t automatically mean that the circumstances will result in anything beyond the medical bills incurred by the victim.
For her part, the wife was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries, however her current condition is not known. Most of the charges that will emerge in this case—if any—will come from her, and it is not clear if she feels that taking her husband to court over the assault is necessary. It is furthermore not clear whether or not the altercation and was intentional or not. The investigation into the case is ongoing, and it will likely emerge whether or not the authorities believe that the husband purposefully drove over his wife or if he simply did not realize that she was near his car at the time when he decided to drive away.
