9-Year-Old Rushed Unconscious to Hospital After Incident in Orlando’s CoCo Key Hotel and Water Resort
An aura of mystery surrounds the CoCo Key Hotel and Water Resort following an incident on Saturday that resulted in a 9-year-old boy to be taken to the hospital. Very little information has been released regarding the incident, but there are a few facts that have been gathered by several local news sources and the Orange County Fire Rescue team, and we will relay the information provided within these dispatches.
The incident happened on Saturday, although the specific time is not known. It is also not known whether or not the authorities were called immediately after the incident or if there was some elapsed time between what happened and when the emergency response teams were notified. The statement given by the Orange County Fire Rescue indicates that the boy, who is 9 years old, was engaged in water play in one of the resort’s many pools when the incident occurred.
When he was taken from the CoCo Key Hotel and Water Resort and driven to the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, the boy was completely unconscious. His current condition is not public knowledge at this time, nor has his name, state or city of origin been released.
Employees of the hotel and resort were asked by news sources for statements from managers on duty, but the reporters were surprisingly told that the manager was busy at that time. It is not clear just what the manager was busy doing. Reporters were given a similarly stony response when they asked whether or not any lifeguards were supposed to be on duty during the time when the incident took place. Rather than responding with a “yes” or “no,” the employee who was asked these questions simply declared that they had no comment to give at this time.
The silence surrounding the situation is alarming, but also somewhat to be expected given the stakes that the popular resort hotel is playing with as a result of the situation. Accidents that happen in hotels and resorts are very often the result of a company’s lack of proper care or maintenance for their facility. Because these locations often operate like self-contained cities, supplying every need for their guests, there is frequently a reticence to speak to any outside personnel when situations such as the one above arise.
