Car Runs Stop Sign, Hits Car and House in Sanford
A two vehicle crash in Sanford, Florida this week left one person dead and a nearby home damaged. According to the local police, the car accident happened around midnight when a blue Mazda sedan was speeding northbound on Bay Avenue. Failing to stop at a stop sign, the Mazda struck an oncoming vehicle traveling east on 7th Street. The impact of the crash caused the Mazda to become airborne. The vehicle then slammed into a power pole, tearing it in two and ejecting the driver and sending the back end of the vehicle flying over a fence and into the side of a nearby house.
Helicopter Crashes into Home in Hillsborough County
Evening in Hillsborough County diverted from its normally quiet path this past Monday after an unusual event ended in a 9-1-1 call and emergency response crews rushing to a home located in the Tampa area. According to a statement from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, they received a call sometime after 5:00 in the evening from a man identifying himself as Bradley Bates, a 51-year-old who comes from an undisclosed residence. The statement goes on to describe in some detail just what occurred on Monday to result in Bates calling 9-1-1, however there are numerous details that are not supplied in the case.
Car Crashes into Telephone Pole in Orlando, One Killed
An accident in Orlando on Sunday afternoon has resulted in at least one death and numerous injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The report on the incident indicates that the crash occurred close to 1:30 in the afternoon as drivers were attempting to travel through the intersection of Apopka-Vineland Road and Balboa Drive. While a full release of the details of the incident has yet to emerge, the Florida Highway Patrol has provided much of the pertinent information as to what happened this past Sunday.
Man Fatally Collides with Dump Truck on Osceola Pkwy
This past Saturday, at close to 1:45 in the morning, a man named Edison Garzon, believed to be a resident of Kissimmee, was driving a Chrysler down the eastbound lanes of the Osceola Parkway. As he neared the point of the Parkway that comes close to the Florida Turnpike, Garzon approached a traffic light governing the intersection between the Parkway and another—as of yet unnamed—road. The light at the time that Garzon approached the intersection was showing red for the eastbound lanes, meaning that Garzon should have begun slowing down as he approached.
Semi vs Car Accident Leaves One Dead in Gadsden County
Last week a 44-year-old male was killed during a Florida automobile accident. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the accident happened in Gadsden County. The 44-year-old, a semi-truck driver from Mount Vernon, Alabama, was traveling eastbound in his semi when a Honda Civic attempted to pass him.
Seminole County Cyclist Killed while Crossing Road
In Seminole County this past Friday night, an unidentified woman was riding her bicycle eastbound on Lake Drive close to where it intersects with Huntridge Way. According to the report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman, believed to be around 49-years-old, was on her bike around 11:15 when she decided to try and cross the road.
Orlando Teen Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Accident Near UCF
At approximately 10 p.m. last Friday evening in Orange County, Florida, 19-year-old Alexandria Clark, was tragically involved in a fatal pedestrian accident near the University of Florida when she stepped out into oncoming traffic and was struck by a BMW travelling eastbound on Alafaya Trail.
Orlando Pedestrian Killed While Crossing University Boulevard
Just before 10:00 at night this past Friday, Alexandria Clark, a 19-year-old woman from Orlando, was on foot by University Boulevard and Alafaya Trail when she decided to attempt to cross University Boulevard. Kim Montes, Clark decided to turn off of the sidewalk and cross the road at a point where no crosswalk is located, a plan that should always be met with skepticism and, ultimately, rejection.
Three Vehicle Accident Leaves Two Dead Near Orlando
A recent three vehicle accident near Orlando have left two people dead. According to the police report, Brownsville Police responded to a three vehicle accident along the stretch of frontage road that runs in front of a strip mall and various chain restaurants. When they arrived, they found a man and woman pinned between a red car and white SUV.
Car Crashes into Orlando Rehab Center
A recent Orlando car crash left a 64 year old woman injured. According to police reports, the injury happened when a 35 year old male crashed his car into a health rehab center located on Merritt Island. Allegedly the driver was driving on Lean Street when he passed out, sending his car through two fences and crashing into the room where the woman was sleeping.
