Two Motorcyclists Die After Crashing in Osceola County

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on February 14, 2021

Motorcycle accidents are some of the most dangerous collisions that can take place on the road. As one might expect, this is true more for the driver of the motorcycle than for those in cars or other vehicles involved. Unlike people within cars, motorcyclists do not have airbags tucked into steering wheels, door handles, and dashboards. This means that when they are involved in a crash, the thing taking the brunt of the impact is the body of the motorcyclist themselves. Sometimes, however, motorcycles are involved in collisions with other motorcycles. In this case, it is a sad fact that both individuals are still extremely exposed to the fatal ramifications of such a violent impact.

On Osceola County on Tuesday, the 9th of February, two individuals were riding motorcycles down Orange Blossom Trail. The reports did not indicate whether the riders of the bikes were traveling together, but we do know that it was as the motorists were nearing the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and Vintage Street that something happened to cause them to collide.

The reports from the Florida Highway Patrol place the time for this deadly accident somewhere around 7:45 in the evening, meaning that many individuals were on the roadway and traveling to home, work, or some other location. It is extremely fortunate for other motorists traveling along this busy roadway that no one other than the two motorcyclists were involved in the incident.

While the reports did not state whether either of the bikers were wearing helmets at the time of the crash, we do know that the force of the collision between the motorcycles resulted in both of the individuals suffering from severe injuries. When paramedics and EMTs reached the scene, they were forced to declare one of the bikers dead at the crash site. The other biker, while still alive when reached by the emergency response crews, was transported from the scene to a nearby hospital. It was sometime after arriving at the medical center that this individual was also declared dead.

At the time of this writing, the investigation into the crash – its causes and who might be to blame – remains ongoing.
