Motorcyclist Killed During Crash with Pickup in Osceola County

Preliminary collision reports from troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol indicate that a 31-year-old motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries last Saturday afternoon during an accident with a pickup truck in a busy Osceola County intersection.

According to early reports from the Florida Highway Patrol operating within Osceola County, it was a few minutes after 1:30 p.m. on May 20, 2023, when a 58-year-old man from Kissimmee was driving a 2002 Chevrolet S-10 pickup in the westbound direction of Orange Blossom Trail near Alexander Street. Authorities indicate that as the driver of the truck attempted to turn left onto southbound Alexander Street, he pulled directly into the path of a 31-year-old man from Davenport who was driving a 2021 Suzuki DR-Z400SM motorcycle in the eastbound direction of Orange Blossom Trail. Neither driver was able to avoid a collision and the pickup truck struck the front of the motorcycle.

The impact from the crash caused the 31-year-old man to be ejected from the Suzuki motorcycle. He suffered severe injuries during the accident and was transported to Osceola Regional Hospital in serious condition. He passed away shortly upon arrival.

The 58-year-old driver of the Chevy pickup sustained minor injuries during the collision and remained at the scene after the accident occurred.

This case is currently under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. No further information is known at this time.
