Collision in Osceola County Kills Motorcyclist

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on September 9, 2018

On Saturday, August 1st, troopers working for the Florida Highway Patrol within the area of Osceola County responded to reports of an accident close to the intersection of Emerald Island Boulevard and Funie Steed Road. While specific details relating to the motorcycle accident are currently not fully available to the public, and while the investigation into the crash is still very much underway, the preliminary reports from the Florida Highway Patrol do sketch a decent outline of the incident as it happened and the unfortunate results.

It was just after 4:00 in the afternoon when a motorcycle and a larger vehicle (such as a car or an SUV) were traveling in the area of Emerald Island Boulevard and Funie Steed Road. The report available did not indicate which road the two vehicles were traveling down and at the time of this writing it is not clear if the two vehicles were traveling in the same direction, opposite directions, or if they approached the intersection while traveling along perpendicular streets, thus resulting in a T-bone crash of some sort.

When the crash occurred, it was with enough force to cause the motorcyclist to suffer from severe injuries. No information exists on the degree of damage done to the two vehicles, but we do know that the wounds inflicted upon the biker resulted in emergency medical response teams rushing them to a nearby hospital for advanced medical attention.

Some time after arriving at the hospital, the motorcyclist was declared dead.

It is not clear if the driver of the car suffered from any injuries as a result of the incident, although in other cases of this sort it often transpires that while the motorcyclist receives severe or fatal injuries the person inside of the larger vehicle does not suffer from any such bodily disasters.

The incident that happened this past Saturday is still under investigation, and police are continuing to compile evidence relating to the incident. They are pulling all findings from the area as well as from potential witnesses to the crash, and any additional updates to the story will emerge after all these factors are considered.
