Lynx Bus Involved in Multi Vehicle Crash in Orlando
Early on Thursday, the Orange County Fire Rescue and deputies with the Orlando Police Department responded to reports of a multi-vehicle crash along Colonial Drive. When they arrived, the members of the various emergency response teams discovered numerous vehicles in severely mangled states as well as at least one passenger trapped inside one of them. According to the official report from the Orange County Fire Rescue, the accident, which took place shortly before 7:00 in the morning at the intersection of Colonial Drive and Harrell Road (just west of State Road 417), included several cars, a bus operating for the Lynx service, and a garbage truck.
Although many of the specific details relating to the accident were not included in the Orange County Fire Rescue report, and although the report also failed to include any hypothesis as to what occurred to set off this string of collisions, we do know that at least one driver was rescued from a crushed automobile. Furthermore, we know that at least one person, suffering from severe injuries, was rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center. It is not known whether or not this individual was also the one who the emergency response teams pulled from the vehicle. Another individual involved was also taken to Florida Hospital East. Their injuries were recounted as being minor.
The report made sure to indicate that none of the individuals inside of the Lynx bus suffered from immediate injuries as a result of the accident.
At the time of this writing, it is not known how the recovery process is moving along for either of the individuals cited as suffering from injuries. In accidents as violent as this, any immediate assessment of the physical repercussions becomes difficult as many of the more serious side effects of a severe car accident do not make themselves known right away. Injuries can begin to manifest themselves in the following weeks and months, as the body begins to settle down and the areas of trauma are revealed. For this reason, even those who are not initially diagnosed as suffering from injuries can often find themselves experiencing physical health decline in the wake of a car accident.
