Apopka Private Flight School Plane Flips During Landing

Students aboard a private plane used by an aviation school within the city of Apopka received the fright of their lives when the plane in which they were traveling landed on the runway in such a manner as to cause it, after numerous bumps, to roll over. The report from the Apopka Police Department stated that the aviation accident took place on the morning of Thursday, October 24th, just before 10:00. It was not immediately clear whether or not the pilot in charge of the plane at the time of the crash was an instructor or if one of the students was attempting to land the aircraft.

What we do know is that the flight, which appears to have been routine up until this point, became rocky as soon as the landing gear touched the tarmac. It is not known if inclement weather played any role in the incident or if perhaps there was something wrong with the plane itself to cause the accident to occur, but after touching down something took place to cause the plane to destabilize. The pilot of the aircraft was not able to regain control of the landing in time, and the plane quickly became completely out of control, ultimately flipping over before it finally came to a halt.

At the time of this writing, it is believed that the National Transportation Safety Board as well as the Federal Aviation Administration are both investigating the incident to see whether or not the problem lay with the weather, the aircraft (a Tecnam Bravo light sport plane), or with the pilot. It is not believed that any of the results from the dual investigations have yet become public knowledge or even if any part of the investigation has yet concluded.

Somehow, and this is nothing short of a miracle, no one who was on the plane at the time of the crash suffered from any injures. Certainly, everyone aboard will remain rattled for quite some time, and it is also possible that lingering emotional or physical trauma will make itself known as time goes on, but at the time of this writing seems as though the individuals involved in the crash are remarkably fortunate.
