Severe T-Bone Collision in Titusville Kills Two Motorcyclists
Detectives with the Titusville Police Department are working diligently to determine the cause of a deadly side-impact collision which claimed the lives of two motorcyclists over the weekend near the intersection of North Washington Avenue in close proximity to the entrance of the Parrish Medical Center acute care facility in Brevard County.
According to preliminary crash reports, it was approximately 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 29th, 2021, when authorities with the Titusville Police Department received their first notifications regarding a car vs. motorcycle accident along North Washington Avenue by the Parrish Medical Center parking lot entrance. As officers approached the scene, they quickly discovered two severely injured motorcyclists lying in the roadway. Brevard County emergency medical teams rushed to assist the adult male biker and his female passenger, however, due to the extreme nature of the collision, the driver of the motorcycle was unable to overcome his injuries and he sadly passed away before they could save him. The adult female passenger was immediately transported by ambulance to a local hospital but she died shortly after arriving at the emergency room.
Accident reconstructionists and witness reports collected by the Titusville Police Department indicate that an adult female driver of a white BMW X5 had positioned her vehicle in a spot where she could make a left-hand turn coming out of the Parrish Medical Center into the southern lane of North Washington Avenue. As the BMW attempted to exit the parking lot, it was t-boned on the driver’s side by the victim’s motorcycle.
The female driver of the white BMW X5 was taken to a local hospital where she received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Although the investigation into this incident is currently ongoing by the Titusville Police Department, it is unclear at this time if anyone will face legal charges pertaining to their involvement in this fatal collision.
