St. Cloud Dog Attacks Woman, Runs Away
A dog owned by individuals in St. Cloud is being sought after it attacked a woman and her two dogs. The incident happened around 5:30 in the morning on Monday when Alexandra Muresan was walking her two dogs, Fendi and Sneaky, near to the St. Cloud Middle School. According to a statement released by the Osceola County Animal Services, Muresan and her two dogs were suddenly attacked by a white and brown pit bull mix that charged at them from the early morning dark.
The pit bull mix initially attacked Muresan’s two dogs, but quickly included Muresan herself after she tried to free her dogs from the pit bull’s attack. She suffered from deep bites on her hands and her left forearm as she freed her dogs, which then ran for their home. As Muresan herself turned around to run away the pit bull then bit her on the back.
Although Muresan was able to grab the dog’s collar in an attempt to restrain it, the attacking animal was able to pry itself loose from her grip and run back towards its house. According to the Osceola County Animal Services, the dog has not yet been found and is believed to still be at large. When it is finally apprehended, the Osceola County Animal Services say that they will quarantine the animal. Due to the severity of her injuries and the depth of the bites, Muresan was hospitalized after the attack. If the dog is not recovered and tested, she may need to endure a variety of vaccinations.
The owners of the attacking dog have been issued a citation for owning an aggressive animal. It is not clear whether or not there have been any other charges leveled against them, and it is also unclear whether or not Muresan will take this case to court in order to receive compensation for the injuries she and her two animals suffered.
Because the dog that attacked Muresan and her pets is still on the loose, county officials are encouraging anyone who sees an animal matching this description in St. Cloud to contact Animal Control at once.
