Eight Injured in Mid-December Orange County Crash
A fairly large collision that took place on Saturday, December 15th, resulted in numerous injuries for several individuals traveling via car through Orange County. Early reports from first responders who reached the crash site indicated that the auto accident occurred somewhere along State Road 429, just before 5:45 in the evening. While many of the specific facts about the collision remain unknown, the early reports did provide us with much of the basic pertinent details.
Included in this is the fact that eight people suffered from injuries as a result of the collision and that these injuries ranged from being fairly minor to traumatic.
As stated above, it was sometime before 5:45 in the afternoon when cars were navigating the rush-hour traffic throughout Orange County. State Road 429 was no different, and the motorists involved in this incident were all traveling down an area of the road’s southern lanes that lie fairly close to Plant Street.
Due to reasons that were not explained in the initial report, a collision took place. In stop-and-go traffic that often happens during rush-hour, it is not uncommon for a distracted driver to rear-end the car in front of them. It is also possible that someone crossed over from the northbound lanes and struck numerous cars head-on. What we do know is that the force of the collision on at least one of the cars was severe enough to cause it to burst into flames. Fortunately, fire crews were among the emergency first responders and were able to extinguish the blaze before it spread to any other vehicles.
It is not known just how many cars total were involved in the crash, but the report did indicate that at least eight people were injured as a result. Five of these people experienced only minor injuries, but were taken to a nearby hospital for a full examination regardless. Another person was deemed to have suffered from serious injuries as a result of the collision, and the last two were rushed to an emergency medical facility as trauma alerts.
It is not known if the investigation into this incident resulted in charges being brought forwards against anyone.
