Sleepy Driver Causes Four Car Pileup in Manatee County

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on August 24, 2016

A driver who fell asleep at the wheel recently caused a four-vehicle accident in Manatee County, Florida. According to reports by the Florida Highway Patrol, 50 year old Vetra Raysor of Bradenton was driving her Toyota Camry westbound in the right lane of Cortez Road, just east of where the road intersects with 26th street.

She allegedly fell asleep and drifted into the right turn lane, where she ran into a Ford Explore driven by 44 year old Kenneth Kiss. The impact with Kiss’ car caused Raysor to wake up, at which time she overcorrected and struck two other cars. One car, a Palmetto, was driven by 19 year old Malik Grown, who also had a passenger with him. The other car, a Ford Taurus, was driven by 39 year old Josue Morales of Sarasota, Florida.

Raysor was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to Blake Medical Center for treatment. Luckily, the others involved only suffered from minor injuries.

According to police reports, there were no indications that Raysor was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident.
