No Solution Currently Offered for Serious Malfunction in Kia and Hyundai Vehicles
Kia and Hyundai owners are currently experiencing an alarming situation due to recent reports of vehicles within these families suddenly bursting into flames. According to the Senate Commerce Committee, there have been 563 registered complaints to the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration since 2014 regarding cars manufactured by Kia or Hyundai. According to all of these claims, cars from these two companies were bursting into flames without first having been involved in a collision. In many cases, the fires began while the cars were not even in use. It was also noted that out of all of these claims over 10% of them came from individuals living in Florida.
While the number of car fires keeps growing, there has yet to be an official investigation or recall relating to the issues. It is believed that the current government administration is forestalling any real investigation into the fires, thus leaving individuals and families who own Kias or Hyundais — not to mention anyone nearby who might be adversely affected by a sudden car fire — in a precarious situation where they are not able to ensure their own safety.
At the time of this writing, it is believed that only one person has died as a result of a non-collision related fire in a Kia or a Hyundai, but if the problem persists (and, due to the lack of imposed response on the companies making the cars, it will) it is entirely possible that more people will find themselves facing severe injury or worse as a result of these unsafe vehicles.
Because no formal investigation has been launched, there is no way to know just what might be happening within the Kia and Hyundai vehicles to cause them to burst suddenly in flames. That cars from these two separate companies are experiencing the same malfunction is not unusual; both Kia and Hyundai are South Korean automobile companies and many of the parts used within the vehicles manufactured by one company are the same as the parts being used by the other company.
In an attempt to demand that the Trump administration respond to this very real threat that faces thousands of people throughout the county, numerous consumer watchdog organizations are compiling information on the incidents. The attempt of organizations such as the Center for Auto Safety is to ensure that all motorists are receiving the just treatment that they deserve as human beings traveling along this country’s roadways, and the independent organization’s efforts to bring this danger to light are greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, until the government takes this issue seriously there is nothing that owners of Kias or Hyundais can do to help ensure the safety of themselves or the other people around them.
