Walt Disney World Accidents

Walt Disney World is the centerpiece of the Orlando amusement park crown. The world famous resort welcomes millions of visitors to its attractions each year. Although Disney World expends considerable effort to make the Disney experience magical, accidents do happen.

Disney World is the size of a small city and is made up of several theme parks, each with its own unique attractions.

Epcot Theme Park

The Test Track takes guests on a rapid thrill ride through water, heat and cold. Reaching speeds of up to 60 miles an hour, the Test Track is advertised as one of Disney World’s fastest attractions. Should something go wrong on this ride, the results could be tragically similar to the aftermath of a car crash.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach

Named after a very rare blizzard that dumped heavy snow on Florida’s normally sunny beaches, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is home to a thirteen-story tall waterslide called the Summit Plummet. Although much is made of the hazards of amusement park rides and attractions, one of the greatest dangers at an amusement park, especially for small children, is water. Splashing and horseplay can make walkways slick and treacherous, the ideal environment for a slip and fall injury.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon

One of the attractions found in Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park features snorkeling with tropical fish… and live sharks. Although Disney has chosen two of the most docile members of the shark family for use in their water attraction, any time humans and wild animals interact, the potential for danger is still present. Snorkeling and swimming can lead to accidental drowning in spite of the vigilance of trained lifeguards.
