Titusville Woman Killed in Rollover Accident Along Old Cheney Highway
Local law enforcement authorities operating within Brevard County are currently investigating the chain-of-events that preceded a fatal auto accident early Thursday morning which claimed the life of a 23-year-old female resident from Titusville, Florida. According to early official statements from officers with the Florida Highway Patrol, it was approximately 1:45 a.m. on May 13th, 2021, when the first reports of a severely damaged vehicle started to flood the Brevard County dispatch center.
Deputies with the FHP were directed to the vicinity of Old Cheney Highway close to where the road intersects with Hacienda Drive, and upon their arrival, they discovered two badly damaged vehicles and two individuals suffering from a range of injuries. Although emergency response teams worked feverishly to revive one occupant, the 23-year-old driver of a 2016 Toyota Corolla, her injuries were far too severe for her to survive and she passed away at the scene of the accident. The other victim of this deadly rollover accident was a 30-year-old man from Deltona, however, he thankfully only sustained minor injuries and was treated onsite by paramedics.
At the time of this writing, Florida Highway Patrol troopers believe that the Toyota Corolla in question was travelling eastbound down Old Cheney Highway when something caused the young driver to lose control of her vehicle, veer off the roadway, and flip over multiple times along the grassy median until it entered the opposite traffic flow of the busy highway and collided with the 2002 Dodge pickup truck being driven by the 30-year-old victim from Deltona. Further details regarding this crash will be released to the public as the Florida Highway Patrol continues to put together these tragic pieces of this fatal collision.
