Driver Dies in Single Car Buenaventure Lakes Crash
A man from Kissimmee died during a crash that took place during the middle of April. According to the reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident took place sometime close to 3:00 in the afternoon on April Friday, April 10th. Much about the incident remains unknown, but at the time of this writing we are clear on several important facts. Importantly, we know that the accident involved only one car and that within this car was only one individual. In other words, no one else was injured during the accident.
Shortly before 3:00, a 20-year-old was behind the wheel of a 2001 Honda and traveling down the northern lanes of Buenaventura Boulevard. It is not known if the authorities believe this person was traveling at excessive speeds or if there were perhaps substances such as alcohol involved, but at the time in question something happened to cause the driver to suddenly lose control of the vehicle.
The loss of control took place when the car was just reaching a sharp curve in the road. It is not known if the location of the curve played any role in the crash or if the driver had lost control of their car due to something that had nothing to do with the conditions of the road.
As the 20-year-old grappled to regain control of their vehicle, they swerved out of their lanes and into the median separating the northern and southern travelers. They then crossed into and over the southern lanes. Fortunately, no other vehicles happened to be directly within the Honda’s line of travel, or, if they were, they were able to escape a collision with the vehicle. For the driver of the Honda, however, their trajectory was not as smooth.
After they crossed over the southern lanes, they careened towards a tree located near to the area. The driver of the Honda was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and the force of the impact between the car and the tree caused them to be violently thrown around the cab of the car. The injuries that they sustained as a result of the crash proved to be fatal.
An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
