7-Year-Old Girl Drowns in St. Cloud Community Pool

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on June 25, 2017

This past Saturday, the community of St. Cloud was shaken by the appalling drowning of a 7-year-old girl in a local community pool. According to the St. Cloud Police Department, the incident happened shortly before 5 in the evening, while numerous others were also in and around the water. The pool primarily serves the residents of the Anthem Park Subdivision. Located at 2050 Remembrance Avenue, the pool is a much loved location for St. Cloud locals in general and Anthem Park residents in particular to gather together and stave off the brutal heat that so often plagues the area.

According to the St. Cloud Police Department’s report, both the police and the St. Cloud Fire Rescue arrived at the pool in response to the emergency call. After arriving, they found the young girl unconscious and immediately began to perform CPR and other potentially life-saving procedures on her. These procedures continued as the Fire Rescue team transported the girl from the community pool to St. Cloud Hospital. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the first-responders, the girl, who has not been named, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.

While little has been released about the girl’s personal information, it is believed that she and her family are not residents of the city. The report indicates that they were visiting some family friends, although it is not clear whether or not they came from out-of-state or from another location in Florida. During the investigation, it was found that the girl came to the community pool with some of her friends, but that neither she nor her friends had received permission from their families before making the excursion to the pool.

At this time, the situation is still under investigation. The St. Cloud Police have not yet given any hints as to what they believe caused the young girl to drown, and it seems that no charges have been brought forward against any of those in attendance. As the investigation continues, it is likely that more details about the case and the circumstances will be released for the general public.
