Rocker Killed in Florida Tractor-Trailer Accident

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on July 18, 2017

The bassist for the New York-based metal band Adrenaline Mob died last week following a three-car Florida accident. According to Florida Police, the 38-year-old David Zablidowsky was killed when a tractor-trailer swerved off the highway and into the two vehicles carrying members of the band. The band was pulled over on the side of the road fixing a flat tire when the accident, which left seven others injured, occurred.

The band was on its way to St. Petersburg, Florida from Biloxi, Mississippi when their RV got a flat tire near Micanopy. Both the RV, which was carrying six people, and the GMC Sierra that was pulling the covered trailer hauling the band’s equipment and carrying two people, pulled over to attend to the flat tire. Shortly thereafter, the semi-truck hit the RV, causing it to burst into flames and seriously injuring seven members of the band and their team. The 59-year-old truck driver, who was on his way to Orlando, was not injured.

Zablidowsky is a well-known musician whose work includes not only playing bass for Adrenaline Mob, but also with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, ZO2, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and SOTO.

Because Zablidowsky was killed and the other members injured by a semi-truck transporting goods for a company, they should be able to seek compensation for their injuries from the company who employed the truck driver. The first step is to establish negligence and that this negligence caused the resulting death and injuries. According to the facts, we know that for some reason the truck driver swerved off the road and into the band’s vehicles parked on the side of the road. Most likely, this swerving will be considered negligent driving. Thus, the injured members should have ground to seek compensation for their injuries from the truck company. For Zablidowsky, his surviving family will likely have grounds to file a Florida wrongful death claim against the truck company.

If you or a loved one have been injured or killed in a Florida automobile accident, you have the legal right to seek compensation. To learn more, contact the Law Offices of James O. Cunningham, P.A. today.
