State Road 408 Crash
Single Car Crash in Orange County, Driver Hospitalized
A single-car crash along State Road 408 this past Saturday afternoon (March 17th) led to the hospitalization of at least one individual. According to the Orange County Fire Rescue, the crash happened on State Road 408, close to mile marker 5, although not, apparently, near to any intersection. A car, not described in any manner, was driving down the road at some point in the afternoon (no specific time was given in the first report) when the driver either lost control of the vehicle or encountered something within the road itself that they were attempting to avoid. Regardless of the reason, they swerved off of the road itself, through the shoulder, and then drove into the roads’ guardrail.
Off-Duty Orlando Officer Discharged after Crashing into Toll Plaza
On Saturday, just after 6:15 in the morning, officers with the Orlando Police Department responded to reports of a crash and subsequent car fire at the toll plaza on State Road 408, close to Andes Avenue. When officers arrived, they were surprised to find one of their fellow officers already there, in civilian clothing. After a brief investigation, it transpired that the off-duty officer already on the scene was, in fact, the one responsible for the crash.
