Fatal Pedestrian vs CSX Train Collision in Orlando

It was shortly before 11:00 in the morning on February 12th when an Orlando resident who was walking along either South Orange Avenue or 4th Street in Orlando attempted to cross the tracks for the CSX train that is located at the intersection of these two roads. As the man was crossing the tracks, a CSX train came through the intersection, hitting the man and critically injuring him. The Florida Highway Patrol, one of the investigating parties, has issued a statement on the incident that goes over the most verifiable details while concluding with the admission that the reasons behind the crash are still under investigation.

Woman Killed in Orlando Pedestrian Accident

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a 56-year-old Wilton Manors woman was recently struck and killed recently while trying to cross Orange Blossom Trail south of Orlando. Troopers say that the victim was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of Orange Blossom Trail near Whisper Lakes Boulevard about 9:45 p.m. when she walked into the path of a Nissan Xterra driven by an 18-year-old Orlando woman. Troopers say the driver of the Nissan had no time to avoid striking the pedestrian, and while their investigation is still ongoing, troopers report that they don’t expect to press charges against the driver. The victim was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where she died from her injuries shortly after arrival.

Woman Struck and Killed in Pedestrian Accident

A woman was struck and fatally injured on the morning of Friday, May 13 while crossing Orange Blossom Trail in south Orange County. Florida Highway Patrol officers are still investigating the accident, but they say that the 41-year-old victim was walking along Orange Blossom Trail around 5:14 a.m. when she stepped in front of a 2011 Ford F-250 that was heading southbound on Orange Blossom Trail near La Quinta Drive. Police say the truck was driven by a 38-year-old Orlando man, and charges are pending against the man during investigation. The woman died at the scene from her injuries.

Man Killed in Orlando Pedestrian Accident

A 67-year-old Orlando man struck by a sports utility vehicle while crossing West Colonial Drive recently died from his injuries two days after the pedestrian accident. Orlando police officers said a 2003 Ford Excursion driven by a 39-year-old Orlando woman struck the man as he crossed the eastbound lanes of Colonial Drive. The victim was rushed to a local hospital for treatment with severe head and internal injuries. Officials said this is the second fatal Orlando pedestrian accident so far in 2011.
