Orlando Pedestrian Killed While Crossing University Boulevard
Just before 10:00 at night this past Friday, Alexandria Clark, a 19-year-old woman from Orlando, was on foot by University Boulevard and Alafaya Trail when she decided to attempt to cross University Boulevard. According to the Florida Highway Patrol’s spokesperson, Sg. Kim Montes, Clark decided to turn off of the sidewalk and cross the road at a point where no crosswalk is located, a plan that should always be met with skepticism and, ultimately, rejection.
Crash Between Orange County Deputy and Civilian
On Wednesday evening, a 51-year-old woman was involved in a crash with a police cruiser that resulted in her being sent to the hospital. The accident took place close to 7:30 in the evening, at the intersection of Alafaya Trail and Colonial Drive. The deputy, a member of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, was responding to an emergency call that took him southward on Alafaya Trail. According to the report, Deputy Wayne Lenihan, a 51-year-old, had engaged both the emergency lights and the siren as he made his way towards the intersection with Colonial Drive.
