Panama City Beach Motorcycle Collision Injures Passenger And Pedestrian

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on November 6, 2015

On the morning of October 24th, officers at the Panama City Beach Police Department responded to a motorcycle-pedestrian traffic accident on South Thomas Drive near Alvin’s Island. When they arrived at the scene, officers located two female victims, an uninjured male, and a 2000 red Yamaha motorcycle.

After investigating, officers found that the motorcycle was driven by Byron Foster Taylor of Fountain, Florida, and was traveling eastbound on South Thomas Drive when he left the roadway on a curve prior to the intersection. He traveled onto the sidewalk and struck a 44-year-old female pedestrian from Pennsylvania, then continued eastbound through brush and came to rest in the grass south of the sidewalk.

Police say at some point, Taylor and his female passenger, a 49-year-old from Gainesville, Florida, were ejected from the motorcycle. The two injured females were transported to Bay Medical Center with serious injuries. Their identities are currently being withheld. Taylor was placed under arrest for driving with a suspended license and for having no motorcycle endorsement. The crash is under investigation by the Traffic Homicide Unit and further charges are pending.

This unfortunate case resulted in injuries for both a motorcycle accident victim, and a pedestrian accident victim, both of which are practice areas at our law firm. Motorcycle accidents, as well as pedestrian accidents, almost always result in severe injuries. In both cases, the victims are vulnerable to serious injury due to lack of physical protection, and often face injuries that cost them thousands in medical bills, treatments, and rehabilitation programs, in addition to preventing them from returning to work.

In a tricky dual-sided case such as this, it’s important to have an experienced accident lawyer who has represented clients in both areas. Mr. Cunningham and his legal team work vigorously to help victims of motorcycle, pedestrian, and auto accidents recover compensation for their injuries and lost wages. He seeks justice for accident victims by holding negligent parties accountable and works closely with medical experts to determine how much money his clients will need for a full recovery.
