Suspect Identified in Florida Hit-and-Run Crash

Leesburg police are looking for the suspect in a June hit-and-run collision that left a 17-year-old girl seriously injured. An arrest warrant has been issued for a 25-year-old Kasson Kwame Ford. According to authorities, Ford was driving a Lincoln Continental near the intersection of Montclair Road and Thomas Avenue when he failed to stop for a stop sign and hit a red pickup truck driven by the 17-year-old victim. The victim was thrown from the vehicle, but survived the crash. Ford is charged with leaving the scene of a serious accident.

The Florida Highway Patrol estimates that about 15,000 accidents will occur on Florida roads this year. Of these accidents, some will potentially be very serious or even fatal.
