One Injured in Golf Cart Crash Near Universal Orlando

A golf cart being driven close to Universal Orlando was involved in a severe accident with a car this past Thursday, May 11th, as the two vehicles were being driven near Turkey Lake Road and Production Plaza. A report from the Orlando Police Department stated that the incident happened late on Thursday night, although it is not clear just why the collision took place or who the police believe to be at fault for the incident.

We know that the collision took place at night, but the original report from the Orlando Police Department did not specify at what point during the night. We also do not know exactly where the incident took place. All the report mentioned was that it was close to the intersection of Turkey Lake Road and Production Plaza, which means that it could have taken place along either road or in the intersection itself.

A picture taken of the incident aftermath shows a green golf cart with a smashed windshield next to a blue Nissan sedan. We can just see into the driver side door of the Nissan, where a deployed airbag hangs from the burst steering wheel. It also appears that the front hood of the Nissan has crumpled towards the windshield.

Although the report did not indicate how many people were involved in the collision, we do know that at least one person was rushed to an area hospital. At the time that they were admitted, this individual was described as being critically injured. No updates have emerged regarding this person’s current condition, and it is not clear if they are considered to be recovering or if the medical staff at the unnamed hospital are currently still attempting to stabilize them.

No names, ages, or cities of origin have been released in relation to any of the people involved in the collision. Furthermore, there was no indication as to whether or not the crash involved a golf cart that was the property of Universal Orlando. Given the proximity of the collision to the popular resort and theme park, it seems not unlikely that the cart had something to do with the property.
