Sanford Man Victim of Single Car Accident

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on August 11, 2014

A Sanford man was pronounced dead upon arrival at Central Florida Regional Hospital after losing control of his vehicle on Celery Avenue and hitting two trees. It is unclear at this point if the death was related to injuries sustained in the accident or a health-related issue.

Florida’s highways and interstates are, tragically, the scene of hundreds of automobile accidents every year. Many of these involve severe injury or even death. Accidents may be caused by distracted driving, speeding, or even in rare cases a health-related issue. The worst cases are accidents that involve alcohol on the part of one or more drivers. The Florida Highway Patrol has launched a campaign in 2014 to combat distracted driving, and drunken driving is always a high focus for law enforcement.

Although there were no additional victims in this accident other than the driver of the vehicle, the potential for additional injuries is always present on crowded roadways. Florida is one of the most visited vacation states in the nation and thousands of tourists pour in every year, in addition to local residents. This can make for extremely congested roadways with a large proportion of drivers who may be unfamiliar with the geography of the land. One split second, one moment of inattention and the scene is set for an accident.

Though we understand that most automobile accidents are unintentional, they are usually the result driver error. Unfortunately, what seem to be a small factor such as keeping tires and windshield wipers in good repair, can have devastating consequences for other drivers and vehicle occupants.
