Accident along I-95 in Melbourne Sends 3 to Hospitals

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on September 23, 2016

This past Tuesday night, at around 8:15pm, an accident took place in the southbound lanes of I-95 that resulted in the complete shutting down of part of the interstate as well as several injuries. Although precise information regarding the cause of the crash has yet to be released, the Florida Highway Patrol has issued a statement alongside of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office that includes a large amount of the current information they posses regarding the accident.

According to the report, two vehicles were entangled near I-95’s 187 mile marker, inside of Melbourne. The emergency response vehicles turned up quickly and were able to pull the injured parties from their separate vehicles. One person was dangerously trapped, but the firemen and other emergency responders were ultimately able to pull them from the car. As far as the actual circumstances revolving around the accident, not much has been stated. What we do know so far is that one of the vehicles was forced off of the road and towards the woods.

All in all, six individuals were injured as a result of the crash and three of these were ultimately transported from the scene of the accident to nearby hospitals. None of their conditions have, at this time, been released, and it is not known whether or not any of the injuries were considered to be life threatening.

The information released by the Florida Highway Patrol is, at this moment, fairly scant. They have not indicated what sorts of vehicles were involved in the accident, how many people were riding in each one, whether or not any pedestrians were involved, or how it is believed the accident was caused. There is an ongoing investigation concerning this case. All of I-95’s southbound lanes were reopened only a few hours after the crash.

As the people involved in the crash begin to recover it will be important for them to start looking for ways to help compensate for the losses they have suffered. Whether it comes in the form of smaller paychecks due to missed work or hefty medical bills, accidents that result in injuries, even minor ones, can quickly become overwhelming life obstacles.
