Collision Between LYNX Bus and Pickup Results in Injuries

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on April 20, 2018

A collision between a pickup truck and a LYNX bus resulted in numerous injuries in Orlando this past Tuesday night. Reports from the scene of the incident as well as reports from the Orlando Police Department indicate that the collision took place along West Michigan Street, close to the intersection of this road and Orange Blossom Trail. The reports from the Orlando Police Department do not offer many of the critical details such as the identities of the individuals involved, the specifics of how the two vehicles collided, and whether or not the full responsibility for the accident is being placed on either the shoulders of the driver of the LYNX bus or the person behind the wheel of the pickup truck, but we do have a few pieces of information that can help us begin to unravel this unfortunate incident.

We know, for instance, that the collision took place on West Michigan Street, but we do not know if the two vehicles were in the same lane, if one of them was turning, if there was an intersection involved, or how fast the bus and pickup were driving when the collision took place. Someone, either a person aboard the bus, in the pickup, or who witnessed the collision from the street, called 9-1-1 and emergency personnel as well as members of the Orlando Police Department quickly arrived at the crash site to assist the injured individuals as well as instigate the preliminary investigation into the crash.

None of the details of this investigation have yet been released, and we are currently in the dark when it comes to knowing just who the authorities are eyeing as the primary initiator of the incident. We are aware that several people were injured in the collision, and that one of those injured required transportation to Orlando Regional Medical Center. This person was admitted to ORMC as a trauma alert, but no word has come from official channels regarding their current condition.

As already mentioned, the crash is still under investigation, and authorities with the Florida Highway Patrol as well as the Orlando Police Department are coordinating their efforts to pin down the remaining details of the incident.
