Man Killed in Orange County Florida Bicycle Accident
Police investigating a fatal bicycle accident have determined that the victim was a 39-year-old Orlando man. Police say the victim was riding his bike around 2:30 in the morning recently near the intersection of Landstar Boulevard and Pinnacle Cove Drive when a 31-year-old man, also from Orlando, driving a motorcycle struck and killed him.
The bicyclist was reportedly trying to cross Landstar Boulevard when the motorcyclist collided with his bike. The impact threw the victim from his bike, and then the motorcycle struck him again. The victim was transported to Florida Hospital Kissimmee, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
When we hear about fatal Florida bicycle accidents, we are correct in thinking that automobiles striking bicyclists are the cause of most bicycle accident fatalities. Very few fatal Orlando bicycle accidents involve collisions with motorcycles, but no matter the vehicle, if the operator was operating his or her vehicle in a negligent manner, he or she may be liable for damages.
