Fort Lauderdale Plane Crash Kills Four

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on April 16, 2015

On April 12, a Piper PA-31 plane inbound to Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport crashed into the woods near the airport. Four people were presumed dead after the plane nosedived and exploded. Investigators are looking into what caused the crash.

Air travel is statistically one of the safest forms of transportation. Pilots go through extensive training and the aircraft itself goes through continuous routine checks. Commercial airlines especially follow strict guidelines, training, and safety procedures, but when it comes to private planes, like the one involved in this crash, regulations are not always as strict and the pilot is not always as experienced.

Aviation accidents, even on private planes, are highly uncommon, but if they do occur, there is often little that can be done and the result is usually catastrophic.

If you or someone you love has been injured or killed in a plane crash, there are a few steps you can take. After any plane crash, the National Transportation Safety Board will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the crash. They could find that the crash was due to defective parts, failure to keep up with maintenance, or pilot error. These are the three most common causes of plane crashes, and if any of these are found in the investigation, you have legal rights.

The Law Offices of James O. Cunningham have been working with personal injury accident victims for decades to help them understand their rights and work through their options.
