Stuntman Faces DUI Charges After Series of Accidents

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on February 25, 2013

A Seminole County man who is a famous movie stuntman may now be infamous after a series of hit-and-run incidents on Feb 13. Orlando police say that Grady Allen Bishop, 51, of Winter Springs, caused more than $10,000 worth of damage to several parked cars, a parking meter and lamppost in downtown Orlando. He faces several charges including driving while under the influence with property damage and three counts of leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.

Toxicology tests after his arrest showed that Bishop had a blood-alcohol level of .191 at the time of his arrest, more than twice the legal limit of .08. Orlando police officers were called to the area around S. Orange Avenue and W. Church Street at about 3 a.m. that morning to investigate a hit-and-run crash. Witnesses told police that they had seen a driver at the wheel of a white pickup truck collide with a parked car and then flee from the scene. While officers interviewed witnesses, they heard another collision near S. Orange Avenue at E. South Street. When they responded to this accident, they found the stalled pickup with Bishop behind the wheel.

Officers investigating the second series of accidents questioned Bishop after smelling alcohol on his breath. His speech was slurred, and he nearly fell twice while undergoing field sobriety tests at the scene.

Fortunately, no one was physically injured by this drunk driver, but many Floridians are not so lucky.
