Driver Perishes in Pembroke Pines Crash

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on September 29, 2015

A single car rollover accident on I-75 Monday morning has claimed the life of a young male victim. Authorities report that a black Nissan GTR sports car was traveling on southbound Interstate 75 when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle flipped over several times before coming to rest on its top. The driver was ejected from the vehicle. Pembroke Fire and Rescue searched the debris field up to 200 feet north of where the vehicle came to rest, but found no other victims. It is unknown if there was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

According to accounts from the Florida Highway Patrol, this area was the scene of another fatal accident that occurred on May 28, in which three people died. I-75 is currently under construction along this stretch of the interstate, with multiple projects going on including the installation of express toll lanes, noise walls and upgraded exit ramps. The area is currently not very well lit at night which makes it difficult to see in the dark, especially if the driver is unfamiliar with the area.

It is not currently known at this time if speed was a factor in the accident or if the driver was wearing a seat belt. Speed limits along I-75 in Florida are typically 70 mph or less in some areas. As this time, no witnesses to the crash have come forward, so speeds can only be speculated from investigating the crash scene. What is known is that the accident ended in a horrific accident, which cost someone their life.

The Florida Highway Patrol advises all drivers to always obey posted speed limits, especially during inclement weather and in unfamiliar surroundings. If lighting is poor or road conditions deteriorate, officials advise slowing down to at least 10 mph below the speed limit to give drivers increased time to react to obstructions or unexpected turns in the roads. If in doubt, take the safe course and slow down.
