Crash on Boggy Creek Road Kills Two Florida Women

By Orlando Personal Injury Attorney on July 28, 2014

An accident between an automobile and a dump truck Friday morning resulted in the deaths of two Kissimmee women, according to police. The incident occurred at the intersection of Boggy Creek Road and New Hope Road. The driver of the automobile had stopped at a stop sign on New Hope Road and pulled out to make a left hand turn directly in front of the oncoming dump truck. Both occupants of the car died at the scene.

This scene is all too familiar to Orange County officials. The State of Florida estimates about 15,000 vehicle accidents annually on Florida roads. Of these, many involve serious injury or even death of the vehicle occupants. Florida’s Highway Patrol has been very focused in 2014 on alerting drivers to the dangers of distracted driving. It is estimated that inattention accounts for over 60% of the accidents in Florida every year. These distractions include phone calls, text messages, loud music or other passengers. When these types of situations are coupled with construction zones, reduced visibility or adverse road conditions, it is a recipe for disaster.

The physical pain of an automobile injury can take weeks to recover from. The mental and financial tolls can be much higher for victims. Often, accidents victims are unable to work during rehabilitation and have no savings to fall back on. If the victim has no or limited medical insurance, medical bills can begin to mount. Just putting food on the table can become a major source of stress and frustration.

It doesn’t have to be this way, however. Help is available. At the Law Offices of James O. Cunningham, we are here to help you through this difficult time and offer advice and support. Please give us a call at 877-FL-INJURY (877-354-6587).
