Two Motorcyclists Injured When Mattress Flies Off Truck
Orlando motorcycle accident attorneys are closely following developments in a case in south Florida involving two riders who were injured when they were struck by a mattress that flew off the back of a pickup truck. The accident occurred around 2 p.m. in San Carlos Park, a community near Fort Myers. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 56-year-old motorcyclist and his 54-year-old female passenger were eastbound on Alico Road behind a 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck when a mattress became airborne and struck them.
Local Man Critically Injured When His Car Is Struck By Stolen Truck
A 27-year-old Orlando man was critically injured recently when his car was struck by a stolen pickup truck driven by a 17-year-old Winter Springs girl. The girl faces numerous charges in connection with the accident and the alleged theft of a Chevrolet pickup truck. Florida Highway Patrol troopers report that they first spotted the girl when they noticed her driving without her headlights on Goldenrod Road near Bates Avenue in Orange County early in the morning on Feb. 21. When a trooper attempted to pull her over, she fled from him at a high rate of speed before causing the accident that injured the Orlando man.
Injured Daytona NASCAR Fans Begin Hiring Injury Lawyers
Two racing fans, who were injured by flying debris from a multi-car accident at Daytona International Speedway, recently announced that they have retained legal counsel in preparation for seeking damages in a personal injury lawsuit. The spectacular accident that injured the two fans and at least 26 more occurred on Feb. 23 during the Nationwide Series Drive4COPD 300. The crash occurred on the final curve of the race and involved a dozen racecars. The high-speed impact of the racecars flung debris over a 22-foot-high fence built in 2010. Crash debris also injured spectators through a hole in the fence caused by one of the cars, which crashed into and shredded parts of the fence during the accident.
Separate Auto Accidents On Interstate 4 Fatally Injure Two Drivers
Florida Highway Patrol troopers report that two drivers were fatally injured in separate accidents on Interstate 4 south of Orlando on Feb. 10. Troopers believe that the first accident occurred around 2 a.m. that morning. Around 7 a.m., troopers discovered a mangled car far from the eastbound lane of I-4 among some trees. The car was driven by a 28-year-old man, who was pronounced dead from his injuries at the scene.
Three People Killed in Florida Aviation Accident
Local officials and accident investigators with the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating an accident that killed three men near Vero Beach on Feb. 14. The crash occurred in a marsh in a remote area of the Fort Drum Conservation Area about 20 miles west of Vero Beach. Indian River County sheriff’s spokesman Thom Raulen said that authorities know the identities of the three crash victims but are not releasing their names until the identities are confirmed and relatives have been notified.
