Walt Disney World and SeaWorld Cited for Lax Worker Safety
A top federal regulator recently cited popular Orlando amusement parks SeaWorld and Walt Disney World for poor commitments to worker safety, pointing to recent deaths at both theme parks. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulator said that he was putting Florida theme parks “on notice” following several amusement park accidents that led to serious injuries or fatalities in recent months.
BBQ Chicken Pizza Cited for Contaminants in Food Recall
An Illinois food manufacturer has recalled nearly 110,000 pounds of barbecue chicken products that may contain plastic and other foreign materials. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service reports that the following products have been recalled:
Three People Walk Away from Central Florida Aviation Accident with Minor Injuries
Three people are counting their blessings after their aircraft crash-landed onto State Road 40 recently. According to reports, the three walked away from the airplane accident with minor injuries when their single-engine Luscombe aircraft had to make an emergency landing on the afternoon of June 25. The 36-year-old pilot and his two passengers were returning to Sanford from a visit to Cedar Key when the aircraft began having engine problems. The pilot made an emergency landing in a field next to S.R. 40.
Deputy Kills Pit Bull that Attacked Orange County Boy
A boy was playing outside in his yard recently when a pit bull attacked and injured him. The dog’s owner claimed he did now know how his dog got outside, saying, “We don’t know how he got out. Every door was closed, and I figure someone came here and let him out and forgot about him.”
Fire Hazard Causes GM Recall
The month of June has already brought news of a massive recall from embattled automaker General Motors. The culprit? Heated washer fluid systems. This auxiliary feature has proven to be a liability for GM since reports indicate the feature includes a hazard of a short circuit that could cause a fire.

Toyota Recall Accident Lawyer Eyes Latest Engine Recall with Interest
Toyota has formally announced yet another recall. This time, faulty engines are the culprit and the recall affects a total of 270,000 Lexus sedans. Toyota has recalled 90,000 Lexus and Crown sedans in Japan and plans to recall an additional 180,000 models sold in the U.S. and other markets. Toyota claims defective valve springs in some V6 and V8 engines can cause unstable idling and engine stalls.
